1. What the site is

The site is a publication: articles explaining how United States benefit programs work. It is not a government service, not an application portal, and not a professional advisory service. See the Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms.

2. No advice, no professional relationship

Content here is general information only. It is not legal, tax, financial, medical, immigration or benefits advice, and using the site creates no attorney–client or other professional relationship. Decisions about your own benefits should be made with the administering agency or a qualified adviser.

3. Accuracy and availability

We take care to be accurate and to cite official sources, but we do not warrant that the content is complete, current or correct for your circumstances. Program rules and dollar amounts change on a fixed calendar and vary by state. We may change, update or remove content at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

4. Permitted use

You may read, print and share the content for personal, non-commercial purposes, and you may quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link to the original page.

You may not:

  • Republish articles in whole or in substantial part without written permission;
  • Scrape or harvest the site systematically, or use it to train a machine learning model, without written permission;
  • Present our content as your own, or as an official government communication;
  • Use the site to charge anyone for information or forms a government provides free;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access, interfere with the site’s operation, or impose an unreasonable load on it;
  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose.

5. Intellectual property

Articles, images, the logo and the design are owned by Izzoto Digital LTDA or used under license, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. Works of the United States federal government quoted or linked here remain in the public domain and are not claimed by us. Full details, and the notice-and-takedown procedure, are on the Copyright & DMCA page.

6. Messages you send us

By sending a message through the contact form you confirm the information is yours to send and is not unlawful. Please do not send confidential personal information — Social Security numbers, case numbers, medical records, bank details. We will delete such material rather than store it. Corrections and feedback may be used to improve articles; we will not publish your name or contact details without permission.

7. Third-party links and advertising

The site links to government and other third-party sites and displays advertising served by ad networks. We do not control any of this and are not responsible for it. A link or an advertisement is not an endorsement. See the Advertising Disclosure.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Izzoto Digital LTDA and its officers, employees and contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of benefits, income, data or opportunity, arising from your use of or reliance on the site — including any benefit that was delayed, reduced, denied or terminated. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to USD 100.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these Terms.

11. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, both of which form part of these Terms.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top of the page shows when the current version took effect, and continued use after a change means you accept it.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, and the courts of Criciúma, Santa Catarina have jurisdiction. Nothing here removes any mandatory consumer protection you have under the law of your own country of residence.
