IP1 Blog is free to read and is funded entirely by advertising. This page explains what that means, and — more importantly for a site about government benefits — what it does not mean.
How the site makes money
We display advertising through Google AdSense and may use other advertising networks. Advertisers bid to place ads programmatically; we are paid on impressions and clicks. We are not paid by you, and we are not paid by any government.
At present we run no affiliate links — no commissions, no referral fees, no lead generation. If that ever changes, this page will say so before it happens and affected links will be marked, as required by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s endorsement guidance.
What advertising does not buy
- It does not buy coverage. No organization can pay to be written about here, or to be described favorably.
- It does not buy links. We publish no sponsored posts, no guest posts and no paid links, and we decline the offers without reply.
- It does not buy edits. No advertiser sees an article before publication or has any ability to change one afterwards.
- It does not buy silence. Nothing has been softened or omitted to protect ad revenue.

Ads are not endorsements — and this matters here
Advertisements are selected by ad networks, not by us. We do not know in advance which advertisers will appear on any page. An advertisement on this site is not a recommendation by IP1 Blog, and it carries no government endorsement whatsoever.
Sites about benefits attract a particular kind of advertiser. Please be careful, and keep these in mind:
- Applying for a government benefit is always free. An ad offering to file your SNAP, Medicaid, SSI or Social Security application for a fee is selling you something you can do yourself for nothing.
- No private company can guarantee approval, expedite a decision, or promise an amount. Only the agency decides.
- Official sites end in .gov. An advertisement that looks like an agency page is not one.
- Representatives in disability claims are regulated. Fees in SSA cases must be approved by SSA and are capped. A demand for a large up-front payment is a warning sign.
Seen an ad here that appears deceptive? Tell us through the contact form with a screenshot and the page it appeared on — we can report it to the network and block the category. You can also report advertising fraud to the Federal Trade Commission.
How ads are placed
Ad slots are kept clearly separate from article text and are labeled by the network. We do not place ads that imitate navigation, disguise themselves as article content, or sit where a reader would expect a button. We do not use pop-ups that block the page, interstitials between pages, or auto-playing audio or video advertising.
Your data and advertising
Advertising cookies are used only with your consent, and until you give it Google’s tags run with advertising and analytics storage denied. The mechanics are described in the Cookie Policy, and the legal basis in the Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings at any time without losing access to anything here.
